Effect of Palm Kernel Meal on the Performance of Broilers
نویسندگان
چکیده
A study was conducted to evaluate the utilization of palm kernel (Elaeis guineensis) meal in broilers (n=360) at 0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5 and 10.0 % either alone or in combination with enzymes (0.05%) made nine dietary treatments. The body weight gain and feed intake were not affected among different dietary treatment groups. The feed efficiency was not significantly affected during starter phase, but it was affected significantly (P<0.01) among different groups during finisher and entire period. The feed cost per kg live weight gain was less in broilers fed 7.5% palm kernel meal with enzymes compared to all other groups. The different inclusion levels of palm kernel meal either alone or in combination with enzymes in broiler diets did not influence the carcass traits, total serum protein, serum alkaline phosphatase , antibody titres for Newcastle disease vaccination and mortality compared to control group .It is inferred that the palm kernel meal with enzymes at 7.5% was proved to be better in terms of economic production of broilers .

Seven duplicate floor pens with 25 day-old commercial chicks were fed a practical type of broiler diet based on maize-palm kernel meal supplemented with varying levels ofniacin so that the rations had 15.0, 22.5, 30.0, 37.5, 45.0, 52.5 and 60.0mg of niacin per kg offeed. The treatments were maintained for a period of 42 days. The results based on liveweight gain, feed intake, apparent utilisati...

This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of phytase superdoses alone or in combination with citric acid (CA) in canola meal-based diets severely limited in available phosphorus (Pa) on growth performance, plasma phosphorus (P), and tibia ash (TA) in broilers from 22 to 42 d of age. Two hundreds and eighty 21-d-old male broilers were used in 28 pens of 10 birds per each. The exper...

The nutritive and anti-nutritive components of raw Detarium microcarpum seed meals (DSM), and its’ impact on performance and blood constituents were investigated in broilers. Day-old broilers (n=225) were randomly assigned to five treatments at graded levels of 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20% DSM in a completely randomized design. Feed and water were given ad libitum till56 days. The analyzed DSM containe...
